The Dark Knight is the Spearman branch of the Warrior, defined by
Berserk - a skill that doubles all damage when you stay at low HP. Dark Knights bring
Hyper Body (party HP/MP buff) and devastating polearm AoE attacks.
Overview
| Property | Value |
| Main Stat | STR |
| Secondary Stat | DEX |
| Weapon | Spear (bossing) / Polearm (mobbing) |
| 1st Job - Warrior | Level 10 |
| 2nd Job - Spearman | Level 30 |
| 3rd Job - Dragon Knight | Level 70 |
| 4th Job - Dark Knight | Level 120 |
Strengths
- Berserk -
Berserk doubles damage output, the strongest self-buff in the game
- Hyper Body -
Hyper Body increases party HP/MP by 60%, essential for boss parties
- Beholder -
Beholder permanent summon that attacks, heals, and buffs
- Hybrid weapons - Polearm for mobbing (swing AoE), Spear for bossing (stab single-target)
Weaknesses
- No new attacks in 2nd job - Uses Power Strike/Slash Blast until 3rd job
- Berserk is risky - Must stay at low HP; dying is easy if careless
- HP washing for early Berserk - Optimal play requires HP washing (optional but significant)
- Dragon Blood danger -
Dragon Blood drains HP continuously, lethal during boss 1/1 attacks
AP Build
Same as all warriors: STR 13 start, +4 STR / +1 DEX, cap DEX ~50-60.
1st Job - Warrior (Level 10-29)
Skill Build
Explanation
Same build as all warriors.
2nd Job - Spearman (Level 30-69)
Skill Build
Explanation
This is a hybrid build - both Polearm and Spear mastery for maximum versatility. Polearm first (swing animation is better for mobbing). Skip Final Attack.
Hyper Body is what makes Spearman special in parties (+60% HP/MP).
Iron Will is near-useless - only 3 points to unlock Hyper Body.
3rd Job - Dragon Knight (Level 70-119)
Skill Build
Explanation
Hybrid DK uses Spear Crusher (stab, single-target) for bossing and Polearm Fury (forced swing, multi-target) for mobbing - swap weapons as needed.
Dragon Blood warning: NEVER use during 1/1-casting bosses (Zakum, HT). It drains HP continuously and will kill you after a nuke reduces you to 1 HP. Does NOT stack with Rage.
4th Job - Dark Knight (Level 120-200)
Skill Build
Explanation
This is the late Berserk build (recommended for most players). Build survivability first (Stance, Achilles), then activate
Berserk around level 150 when you have enough HP to survive at low percentages. Funded/HP-washed players can rush Berserk immediately after Beholder for massive early damage. WARNING: Cap
Aura of the Beholder at 20 - level 30 heals too fast and kicks you out of Berserk range. Same for
Hex of the Beholder at 20 - max level negates attack potions and Bless buff.
